About the Barn Nature Center
The Barn Nature Center is a non-profit educational animal sanctuary for rescued and re-homed exotic pets. Our interactive animal exhibits feature over 40 diverse species from around the world. Our mission is to provide quality care to our wonderful animal ambassadors while providing environmental and wildlife education to the public, as well as teaching youth animal care and community service skills. It is our hope that experiences at the Barn Nature Center inspire deeper connections with the natural world and respect for all life.
The Barn Nature Center offers fun and educational parties, tours, camps, workshops, scout programs, and outreach presentations to engage the community in experiential animal education and conservation. We offer children, adults, and seniors the opportunity to touch, hold, feed, and meet our amazing exotic animal ambassadors. Groups visiting the Barn Nature Center also have the option to explore their adventurous side by climbing our large indoor rock wall and high ropes course, participating in exciting team building activities, engaging in hands-on citizen science stream studies, or even enjoying a guided kayaking or hiking excursion. The activities provided in our Adventure Center encourage positive peer interaction, assist in the development of the child's confidence, and promote healthy and varied hobbies and overall physical and emotional health.
Located at the intersection of 611 and Almshouse Road in Doylestown, the Barn Nature Center has become a “must see” for children’s birthday parties, scout trips, school groups, family outings, special events, and more. Since opening in 2012, we have rescued many exotic companion animals while continuing to expand and develop our educational and recreational programming. The Barn Nature Center also offers meaningful youth community service and internship opportunities. As a non-profit organization, the Barn Nature Center relies on income generated from donations, visitors, events, and programs to provide quality care for our resident animal friends.
We take pride in our guests having wonderful, memorable experiences while enjoying up close and personal encounters with diverse and fascinating species. Come feed our 130-pound Sulcata Tortoise and meet our friendly and silly Ferrets. With over 100 animals living at our facility, the experience you gain at the Barn Nature Center promises to be fun, educational, and unlike any other!
