Birthday Parties at the Barn Nature Center are an adventure your child will never forget. Our Parties are unlike any other. We offer a FUN and educational staff-guided tour of our animal residents as well as a huge party room! Our animal tour includes live animal interactions with our over 40 species of exotic re-homed pets. Participants will get to touch, hold and even feed some of them! We have a few packages to choose from to make your party a special one. Generally the parties are structured as follows; Animal tour (approximately an hour long), Party room (for anywhere from 30-60 minutes), and an add-on, if chosen. We are completely flexible with this order, if another is preferred. Sometimes it works out better to do food first, animals and then cake! It is important to remember that a party rarely has all guests in attendance for the exact start of the party. This is why we plan for an hour of time for food, so that we can shave off time there if needed.
You are offered a flexible hour of time in our Party room. This is your time to shine and host your guests. We are always happy to help as you see fit, however all food and beverages are provided by you. We do provide paper products (plates, cups, napkins, utensils), Tablecloths, fridge/freezer, serving dishes, and decorations (“Happy Birthday” theme mixed with animal decorations). Since our room is separate from our animals, we have no restrictions on food/beverages brought in. We also have no restrictions on any decorations/themes that you would like to bring in to decorate with as well. The room seats 40 people comfortably. There are four tables with chairs, a front table, as well as buffet style counters running along the windows if need be. We generally are able to offer up to a half hour of time prior to your party, for you to come in and get set up if necessary. Please coordinate this with your party planning contact!
The Animal Tour
Our staff guide guests throughout our nature center to meet some of our over 40 different species of animal residents. Children get to learn about the animals they meet, and many animals will be touched, and some can even be held and fed! The tour takes approximately an hour, however, it can be shortened or lengthened as needed to flow the party correctly. Our staff are able to entertain children of any age with the facts they provide and how quickly it is moved along (for those with short attention spans!). This is an experience your child and their friends and family will not forget!
Our party packages are based on the number of children attending the party and participating in the guided tour. Adults do not count, unless you'd like for them to participate too! Don't miss Add-Ons below! We recommend booking your party at least 2 months in Advance! Remember, if we do not have the date you'd like for an in-house party, we may be able to come to you! This package is for 10 or less kids to have a 2 hour party that will include a 1 hour animal tour, and 1 hour use of the party room.
Base Price: $300
This package is for 11-20 kids to have a 2 hour party that will include a 1 hour animal tour, and 1 hour use of the party room.
Base Price: $400
This package is for 21-30 kids to have a 2.5 hour party that will include a 1.5 hour animal tour, and 1 hour use of the party room.
Base Price: $500
This package is for 31-35 kids to have a 2.5 hour party that will include a 1.5 hour animal tour, and a 1 hour use of the party room.
Base Price: $600
Birthday Party Policies
Time lengths are per the Barn Nature Center's recommendation, they can be decreased per the host request, and more time can be booked as an add-on.
Host family may arrive up to 30 minutes prior to the party start.
Packages can be changed after booking, however, it must be set once we reach the date 2 weeks prior to the event.
After booking is finalized, Barn Nature Center cannot guarantee ability to extend party length.
After booking is finalized, a non-refundable deposit of $50 must be paid. This ensures your spot. Should you need to cancel after this has been paid, the deposit will be lost. Should you wish to transfer your date, with a month notice or more, half the deposit may be transferred.
Once within 2 weeks prior to the event, the package can no longer go down.
Final Payment is due 2 weeks prior to the date of the event.
Once within 2 weeks prior to the event, the package can go up, but this would incur a $50 late booking change fee, this would be on top of paying the new package price. This is because with any change in package we must then find another staff to help run the party and accommodate the new number of children.
Party order can be whatever host family wishes. Certain things to consider, are time for guests to arrive late, certain crafts need time to dry, time of day may determine when to eat.
Headcount is based on children attending the party and participating in the tour. Adults don't need to count unless they are meant to be participating!
Own decorations, tablecloths, cups, plates, utensils, etc are welcome, but remember, we do provide these!
Piñatas, face painters, princesses and other guest attractions are welcome, just ensure you schedule time accordingly!

Craft Options(Or Favors!):
$3/child = Paper Plate Snakes - geared towards our youngest audience, children can glue tissue paper scales, a tongue and eyes to their snake!
$4/child = Paper Chain Snake - children can decorate their own or their friends links to make a chain link snake
$5/child = Animal Masks - Paint and decorate their own animal mask (since painting recommend doing earlier in the party)
$6/child = Bracelet Making - Use our assortment of fun and colorful beads to make bracelets to remember the special event!
$7/child = SLIME! - Staff will walk the children through making their own slime to take home!
$8/child = Beaded Animal Keychain - Staff will walk the children through making their own beaded animal keychain to take home!
BINGO Barn Nature Center Style! Barn Nature Center Bingo! (Staff facilitated, supplies provided, takes 30 minutes) = $100 Fun AND Educational! Our Bingo cards have our animal residents on them! Children can be quizzed on what and who they are and special facts about them that they just learned on the tour!
Barn Nature Center Coloring Book! These books were drawn, designed and written by the President of our Board of Directors! They incorporate past and current animal residents of the Barn Nature Center! Learn cool facts about each animal as you read the rhymes about them and be inspired by ecological quotes! (regular cost of $10 each) Less than 10 books = $9 each 11-20 books = $8 each 21-30 books = $7 each
Bird Feathers! Send your guests home with little tokens from the animals themselves! Feathers vary in cost and are subject to availability! Ask if you're interested! Some have even turned them into jewelry or trinkets!
Crafts made at the Party! Have your guests make their own take home party favor! If you do opt to have craft time of any sort, whether it be animal masks, decorated snakes or lizards, make your own slime, friendship bracelets, beaded bracelets or necklaces or Keychain Lizards, these would not only entertain them during the party, but be something to treasure at home as well!

Ready to Book??
The booking process Once you are ready to book your party, please contact the Barn Nature Center Office team at email@example.com. We recommend booking 2 months in advance. We normally host parties on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoons, and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Other days of the week may certainly work, but we must ensure staff prior to booking. Upon booking your party you must submit a $50 non-refundable deposit. Once booked, you will be sent a contract via email. We ask that as soon as you can, you return the contract, signed and pay a $50 non-refundable deposit immediately upon booking. Your email will also include a waiver for you to look over. All guests with participating children must sign the waiver. The waiver is sent to you for your review ahead of time. You may choose to add the waiver to your invitation, or you may have guests sign as they arrive. The Barn Nature Center does not need to receive them ahead of time. Once booked, it is highly important that we are notified if your party package size needs to change. Once we fall within 2 weeks of the party, changes to staff may prove difficult, and staff are dependent upon the number of children. All party size changes must be made 2 weeks prior to the party date. After the two week mark packages can no longer be decreased , but can be increased with an added late fee of $50. Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to the date of the party.
**PLEASE NOTE: Price and package is determined by the number of participating children (infants do not generally count). Adults are not factored in prices and are not limited by the Barn Nature Center. The time lengths of the packages are our recommendation. They may be shortened at the clients discretion, however, shortening the party length does not reflect any change in the cost of the package.
