Traveling Animal Presentations

Our fun and educational Traveling Animal Presentations allow us to bring our animals to your school, event, organization, or private party. Each presentation gives the audience the chance to be up close and personal with some of our animal ambassadors from the Barn Nature Center. These presentations could be themed or custom designed to meet specific academic standards or the interests of your group. Examples of presentation themes may include: Animal Kingdom; Adaptations; Amazing Reptiles; Predator and Prey; Food Webs; Endangered Species; Diurnal and Nocturnal. Traveling Story Time

Bring the Barn Nature Center to you with one of our Traveling Story Times! Select your favorite from one of our available stories! After we read the story, you will get to meet some exciting live animals from the book face to face!

The Little Tree - A story about a tree who learns to let go and grow! Meet an arboreal (tree-dwelling) animal from the Nature Center!

Verdi - A story about a snake who doesn’t want to grow up! Meet a snake from the Nature Center!
Little Skink’s Tail - A story about a small lizard who’s tail falls off! Meet a lizard from the Nature Center with the ability to drop its tail!
Night Animals - A story about a possum and his friends who are afraid of things that go bump in the night…even though they are too! Meet a nocturnal animal from the Nature Center!
Rumble in the Jungle - A fun rhyming story about a variety of jungle animals! Meet a tropical animal from the Nature Center!

This show is approximately 45 minutes in length, and is targeted to children in preschool and elementary school.

Traveling Naturalist Programs

Want to get you class, camp, or other group outdoors? At our Traveling Naturalist Programs you can select a location, like a park or a trail, and one of our trained staff will meet you there to guide you through nature! Whether you'd like to get wet and wild in a creek or stick to the trails we will have something for your group! Some of the topics you can pick from are:

Stream Study

If the location you want to go has a creek or river, we can run one of these. We will bring along nets, buckets, and worksheets that we can use to assess the health of a body of water by looking for macro invertebrates!

Bug Hunt

Similar to our Stream Study, we will bring nets out to one of our fields or a location near you! Our trained entomologists will help humanely capture, examine, and identify our backyard bugs, before we release them all back into the wild!

Nature Hike

Our staff will meet you at your location and lead you on a hike through nature! We will bring along a backpack full of games that are used to show how animals perceive their environments as we go!

Have your own idea of what you'd like to learn or cover? Let us know and we will work with you to create a new program!

Please notify us upon booking what you would like the theme of your traveling naturalist program to be, and please book at least two weeks in advance so that we can give parks notice that we will be there!

Tabling Events

The Barn Nature Center is always happy to participate in community events. Our table would include several of our live animals, educational table displays, biofacts, and information about the Barn Nature Center. The Barn Nature Center's exciting Senior Safari program allows seniors to personally meet, touch, and learn about fascinating animals from around the world. Our friendly and diverse animal ambassadors are sure to fascinate, intrigue, and bring smiles to your mature audience! Come visit us for a personalized animal adventure at our beautiful facility located in the historical Doylestown Barn, or leave the driving to us, and we can bring the Senior Safari to you!
